When your dog is scratching a tooth or chewing on it, your veterinarian will often prescribe a preventive dental treatment, such as a root canal, that helps your dog’s gums return to their original shape.
You might also want to consider treating a small amount of plaque in the area, and if your pet is chewing on something else, like a piece of furniture, they can take a look.
But if your furry friend is chewing a metal tool, it’s a good idea to check to make sure they’re not chewing on the tip of the tool or on the inside of their mouth.
If the dog is chewing off the tool, you’ll need to remove the tool and replace it.
You’ll need a dental assistant to do this.
A small denture or metal tool will not fix your dog a tooth problem, but it may help them feel more comfortable.
